Improve your data gathering from website forms to save time and money.
List the types of data you want to track for your form, for example, engagement drop rate or field filling.
Find a tool that will track the data you want, like Zuko.
You can use Google Tag Manager for basic analytics, but it can be difficult to set up and fairly limited in scope. Zuko focuses on eight key reports, built from dozens of form metrics:

Create an account on the tool you chose and identify any secondary information you’d like to gather.
For example, dedicated tools offer options like heat mapping to eye tracking to help you pinpoint trouble spots.
Install the software on your website and allow it to gather form interaction data.
Add the plugin directly or add the code generated from the website dashboard.
Open the analytics or report section of the software, and download a form report.
Find areas of your form that might need improvement.
For example, a high drop rate would indicate a big problem with a form that might require total redesign, whereas an eye tracking report that shows people lingering on one control, might mean that you need to modify that area of the form only.
Make changes and A/B test them to find winning variations.
Give your form analytics tool time to gather more data on the new version of the form and compare the report to the previous one.
