Business Benefits

Increase search engine rankings and traffic.

Create a unique title for each page to help search engines and readers differentiate between different pages on your website.

Use web-based tools like Yoast SEO WordPress plugin, to ensure your titles aren’t too long.Keep your page title under 60 characters.

  1. The length limit is based on pixels, not characters, so a page title that’s close to 60 characters may still get cut by search engines.

Use the primary keyword near the beginning of the page title only if it sounds natural.

  1. For ranking purposes, a page title is the most important textual element on the page; the text near the beginning of the page title is weighted slightly more heavily. That said, it’s not essential to have your target keyword near the beginning if it doesn’t sound natural.

Add brackets or parentheses to make your page title easier to read.

  1. For example, “Three Ways To Tie-Dye Shirts (In Less Than Ten Minutes!).” Or, if you include your brand name: “Three Ways To Tie-Dye Shirts | T-Shirt Factory.”

Use title case or sentence case capitalization for the page title rather than all caps—for your page title.

  1. Sentence case- Capitalize the first letter of the first word of the headline. For example, ‘Three ways to Tie-Dye shirts.’
  2. Title case-Capitalize the first letter of each word in the title. For example, ‘Three Ways To Tie-Dye Shirts.’
  3. All caps titles (for example: THREE WAYS TO TIE-DYE SHIRTS) are too aggressive and may make your website seem spammy.

Include your brand name in the title to make your website seem more reputable and trustworthy.

  1. For example, “How To Make Blueberry Pie | Don’s Bakery”.
  2. If your brand is well known, it may also help earn more clicks.
