Increase LinkedIn followers

Business Benefits

Build a larger audience for your content and gain more robust insights into your audience.

Create a clear value proposition for your LinkedIn page that matches your target audience interests and pain points, and separates you from your competitors.

Optimize your LinkedIn page for both network-internal and external SEO, like adding an on-brand banner image and including keywords in on-page copy.

Work with your employees to properly link their work experience to your page and engage with your content when appropriate.

Link to your LinkedIn page in other marketing channels, like your website and your teams’ email signatures.

Create a content calendar for regular updates that match audience interests, needs, and ideal engagement times.

Create content that is either helpful, entertaining, community-building, or inspiring.

Pick 2-3 topics that you want to be known for, talk about and build an audience around:

  • Start with a hook – why should I care? Raise the stakes.
  • Just talk about the meat, don’t talk about meeting someone or narrate a discussion.
  • The end. Make sure there is one – if it starts like a story, there should be a payoff.

Increase your presence in industry-relevant LinkedIn groups in an authentic, credible way.

Coordinate with influencers and other brands in your space to share and engage with each other’s content.

Actively engage with comments and direct messages on LinkedIn from your target audience.

Create a LinkedIn follower ad campaign targeted to recent web visitors or users that match your buyer personas.

Review your LinkedIn analytics at least monthly to understand which content and effort has generated the most followers, and gain further insights about your audience.

I recently received some advice by Peep Laja recently to post successful and relevant content on social that you should be more strategic.

Pick 2-3 topics that you want to be known for, talk about and build an audience around. Never (or rarely) promote anything, talk about ideas.

And then write about those with a hook your posts from

  • start with a hook - why should I care? raise the stakes
  • just talk about the meat, dont talk about meeting someone or narrate a discussion
  • the end… make sure there is one… if it starts like a story, there should be a payoff

Thanks @hesh_fekry – I added that info to step 5.
