Implement custom pop-up locations on site

Business Benefits

Improve user experience by displaying customized content based on their location on your website

Create a list of all pages on your site where a custom pop-up will be used, such as an exit-intent popup on a product view page.

Normally, you may want to use custom pop-ups for more important pages in your customer buying journey, so when someone is on a services page, you may want to show them a pop-up that says “Want us to call you? Enter your name here” OR if someone is on the pricing page, you may want to show them a pop-up that says “Want a discount? Enter your phone and we’ll call you”

Copy the URL of each page and paste it in the “where to show” or “target” settings in the corresponding pop-up in your Pop-up tool

For example, set up the exit-intent form in your pop-up tool, where the triggering behavior will be exit intent and the target will be the URL of all the product pages.

In the case of a tool like Privy, click on “When to Show” and select the checkbox marked “Show on exit-intent” and then under “Who to show it to” select “Current URL” under property, contains under “operator” and then enter all URLs that you want to use for this pop-up to appear

Copy the code from the pop-up tool and insert it in the code of each page where you want the pop-up to display

If you are using a plugin for WordPress, the code is automatically inserted into your web page. In the case of a tool like Klaviyo, the code snippet would look like this

Repeat the previous step for all pop-ups that are customized based on user location on your website

If you want to engage users in different messages across different sections of your website, repeat this process for each pop-up
