PPC specialist from scratch

Hello everyone, this message is directed towards those of you with experience in PPC marketing.

I’m interested in transitioning from email marketing to PPC and would like to gain some experience in this field. However, in order to do so, I’ll need to invest some money in ads.

Since I don’t have my own product or service, I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good referral program where I can help someone acquire clients in exchange for a percentage, ensuring that my money isn’t wasted.

Alternatively, if you have any other suggestions for gaining experience in paid ads, I would greatly appreciate it.

If you’d like, feel free to share your advice or story about how you landed your first job in PPC.

Perhaps @katherine may have some thoughts. She will be back Tuesday from National holiday.

Hi @e4atan, thought I’d chime in and send you the link to the PPC blogs we have - https://cxl.com/?s=ppc

You can also offer free help to different companies instead of spending your own budget.

Maybe it makes sense at least to send them such a proposal. Thank you for a good idea!

Rene’s suggestion is good. I’d look at:

Get recognised qualifications and training on various platforms
Decide what is unique about your service or offer…eg with your email marketing background you might focus on your copywriting skills and articulate how they will help you drive results
Decide who specifically you are targeting - are their industries or customer types you have a lot of past success in…focus on those
Build your profile on LinkedIn offering expertise in PPC
Could DM on LinkedIn prospective clients
Who were your email marketing clients? Can you target those?
Look for a mentor or agency who will give you experience / employment…you’re going to spend a LOT of time hunting down business and winning it and then maintaining client relations…and that’s a lot LESS time you’re going to have to spend on great campaigns…I’m not sure where your drive to do this as a solopreneur comes from but challenging whether that’s necessary if your goal is to re-specialise
I absolutely wouldn’t take out PPC ads to win new PPC clients…and certainly not until you’ve done all of the above

Good luck!

I would recommend you go with LinkedIn. A lot of people are looking for the same guy for their domain. You can help them too.

I appreciate your honest response and the opportunity it has given me to gain a fresh perspective on the matter.

Anyway, first of all, I will undergo training on various platforms. After that, I will make an effort to target my current network of clients and the companies I have previously worked for.

Thanks a bunch!

Having already built relations, you could offer them PPC campaigns that drive email subscribers, and you can convert them with email marketing—a good combination.

It´s already a good start if you can run specific niche campaigns and be super good at them.

Maybe this becomes your niche service to drive email subscribers with PPC and convert subscribers to cash, averaging 10X ROI. (Example)

You can say you have freshly built your PPC skills and would like to combine this with email marketing as it´s powerful. Even put your knowledge to the test and get paid for your time because you´re a skilled marketer.

nice example of building UVP here and combining experiences, thanks!

hi Eatan,
I would also recommend searching on LinkedIn!
