Business Benefits

Make the most of your time spent learning.

Search the web for online courses and identify courses that include quizzes, an online community, and both visual and textual content.

Check whether you can complete the coursework in your time or if you need to attend online classes in specific time slots.

Look for courses that have classes at least once per day, but no more than 4 hours.

Select a course that fits your work schedule and integrate your active learning course with your daily routine.

Create a study calendar with time allocated for learning in class, preparing for class, and reviewing what you have already learned.

  • Divide your time into three slots, preferably morning, afternoon, and evening
  • Allocate a time when you know you are most attentive to your active learning and class participation.

Block off specific times during the day, when you can only focus on your study.

Structure your learning curve by resting your brain when you find yourself getting overwhelmed with information.

Draw diagrams and make up acronyms or rhymes to help you to remember information you need to know by rote.

For example, a classic mnemonic for the notes on the lines of a treble music stave is Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit (E, G, B, D, F).

Use mnemonic devices every time you review information you’ve already learned to help you recover it faster from long-term memory.
