Business Benefits

Understand your audience, find optimizations, and track your campaigns more closely.

View your Facebook ad account reports.

Go to the Facebook advertising account where you would like to create your reports. Click on the Reports button on the right side of the page.

Select the type of report that you want to see.

When you click the Reports button a dropdown will appear.

Scroll down to the All option and select the type of report that you want to see. You can select from:

  • Demographics, such as age, gender, country, and others.
  • Delivery, which shows what device and time of day your ad was delivered.
  • Actions, such as how people interacted with the ad.

NOTE: You can select and combine more than 1 report at any time. For example, you can select to see both the placement of the ad and the gender of people who saw it.

Find ways to improve the performance of your ads.

Review your reports according to the goals you’ve set for your business. For example, if you’re looking to get more conversions or purchases, go through the purchases, cost per purchase, ROAS, and click-through rates. This will give you a better understanding of where you should improve and scale.

When you are looking through the report, ask your self questions like:

  • Where are the conversions coming from?
  • Which demographics, placements or audiences are working the best?
  • Which days of the week do people engage with my ads the most?

Asking these questions will help you find ways to decrease costs, get more conversions, and refine your target audience.

For example, after reviewing your ads, you notice women age 45 - 64 purchase more than the rest of the age groups. This means you can optimize your ads by narrowing down your targeting to this age group only. This will result in a lower cost per conversion and higher ROAS.

Export the report.

If you work as an advertiser for a firm or a client, it’s important to share your reports to show that you’ve reached your goals or KPIs. On the top right of the report page, click on the Export button (arrow facing down).

Name your report and select type of file to export.

Share report with a Facebook share link.

Instead of downloading the report, you can share it via a link with anyone who has access to your ads account. If you share the link with someone who does not have access to the account, they will not be able to view the report. In this case, you should download your report and sent it via email as instructed in step 4.

Click on the arrow button on the top right part of the screen to share the link.

Schedule reports to send automatically via email.

You can schedule reports to be sent automatically to your inbox as a way to monitor your campaigns on a weekly, daily, or monthly basis.

In general, you should monitor ad reports on a daily basis to ensure that the performance is on track. With ad sets, campaigns, and demographics reports, it may make more sense to monitor these on a weekly or monthly basis so that you have time to collect a significant amount of data.

To schedule your automatic report, click on the link below the name of the report.

Select the schedule email toggle button, select a delivery time, and click Apply.
