Business Benefits

Boost content visibility and distribute content authority throughout the website.

Ensure your website includes relevant content for your audience, organized into a structure that makes sense to users.

Format pages for easy scannability, break each topic into subtopics, and create HTML headings that make sense:

  • Subheads reflect your content hierarchy. This means you shouldn’t start with an H3. Your headers should flow logically that makes sense
  • Subheaders that are questions can get featured in voice search
  • Subheadings should feature your target keyword’s synonyms and related semantic terms

Structure your site into silos and categories. For example:

  • Hairbrushes.
  • Curling Irons.
  • Flat Irons.
  • Blow Dryers.

Hairbrush Pages In the Silo:

  • Paddle.
  • Smoothing.
  • Detangling.
  • Styling.

Run surveys and questionnaires to find out what your users want to know, and ensure content addresses these topics.

Pick important pages to be internally linked, that you want to pass authority to.

  • A lot of internal links pointing to a page show Google that the page is important, and boosts it in the rankings.
  • A good internal link would be high up on the page and above any outbound links.
  • A bad internal link is below an outbound link and located far down in the content.
  • It is vitally important to have links pointing to every one of your pages so Google can easily crawl, reach, and read your pages. A page without any links pointing to it is called an orphan page. Orphan pages often go unindexed and never show up in search results.

Ensure that pages includes lots of links to other related pages throughout the copy.

This is a great way to improve the SEO for your site. Internally linking pages shows Google what pages are topically relevant, improve the user experience, and allow people to access the information they need.

Add links either manually using the page editor, or using a plugin such as Internal Link Juicer

To add a link manually:

  1. Search and select the page or post you want to link to, and paste its URL into the relevant field.
  2. Activate the open link in a new window or tab box on your editor.
